Ritchie Navigation is no longer offering our factory refurbishment program on Helmsman, Voyager, Explorer, or Sport series compasses. Due to the current situation with COVID-19 we are asking all customers to ship their compasses to our offices.  We will not be accepting walk-in deliveries or pick ups for the health and safety of of our staff and their families.  We will ship you compass back to you free of charge for this inconvenience.  We appreciate your understanding and look forward to resuming normal operations as soon as it is safe to do so.

At our factory, we recondition Ritchie compasses*. We repair the compass capsule to like new condition with a one year warranty. We have flat rate pricing to do so. To receive an estimate to repair, we can be contacted at [email protected] or by calling our service department at 781-709-3202.

Shipping Procedure

The following procedure is required when sending a product to the factory.

  1. Examine the product to make sure that all necessary structural parts are sent with the unit. (Sometimes mounting bezels are left behind on the boat when people don’t realize that they are part of the compass.)
  2. If the compass is leaking, drain and wrap the compass so that any leaking fluid does not destroy the shipping box.
  3. Select a shipping carton that will stand up to normal shipping abuse.
  4. We recommend packing 3 to 4 inches of padding around the compass to prevent damage.
  5. If you are returning a product for repair, please be sure that a legible note is included with the following information:
    1. Your name
    2. Address where you would like the unit returned.
    3. Description of what you would like done.
    4. If you are returning a product for warranty repair, please specify the purchase date.
  6. If you are returning a new product for refund that was purchased from Ritchie directly, include a copy of your Invoice.
  7. Ship to the following address. Be sure to keep your shipping tracking number. Please be sure to include the PO BOX if shipping by USPS.
